Batch Operation
Supervised the conversion from a PC based DOS O/S based batch operation to a PLC based operation with a Windows O/S front-end.
Expanded the new batch operation to include new features.
Assisted in improving the process flow through the plant.
Reduced the batch times from 5 minutes/batch to 2.5 minutes/batch.
Provided long-term engineering and maintenance for the facility.
Contract Packaging
Machine failure with no documentation. IEC was contacted to reprogram the PLC. The result was in improved quality, doubling of the production speed, and elimination of electrical downtime.
Designed a tension control system for their web process machines.
Set-up and verified scales and metal detectors for production. (FDA Requirement.)
Material Handling
Assisted with relocation of product conveyor. System included multiple barcode scanners and package sortation.
Eliminated unused code from the original program in order to simplify troubleshooting.
Reprogrammed code to reflect new routing of the product, streamlined the automation, & increased sortation speed by reducing the delay caused by the barcode scanner.
Eliminated errors in the original software and wiring of the equipment. (Original integration was not ours.)
Meat Packing
Designed and installed a menu driven, HACCP compliant, smoke house control system.
Metal Forming & Stamping
Installed OSHA approved press controls.
Upgraded punch press to PLC based controls.
Pre-built a PLC control panel for in-house installation.
Screenprinting - Customer #1
Designed, built, and installed OEM replacement equipment.
Improved critical temperature controllers. Original equipment varied ±100°F upgraded to ±1°F
Provided replacement control panels that are easily repairable in-house.
Screenprinting - Customer #2
Designed repairable heating panels.
Designed user-friendly Flash Controllers.
Reprogrammed OEM equipment, increased production by 30%.
Textiles - Customer #1
Installed new warping machine.
Designed & installed new controls for an existing re-roll machine.
Textiles - Customer #2
Reprogrammed the OEM PLC to control additional machines on the same line. This reduced the number of stages to finish the product. The combination of two processes eliminated the need for one of the operators and the additional support personnel.

Redesigned the speed control of a web process to improve speed accuracy of the web. This eliminated the quality problems that were caused by variations in the speed of the web.
